Description

Reprinted 2011.

This guide is based on numerous trips the authors have led to the island of Mallorca in the last decade, including two for the Geologists' Association, and contains a certain amount of original research. The Balaeric Group, the most isolated of the Mediterranean islands, covers an area of 5014 sqkm. Its submarine platform is separated from the east coast of Spain by the Valencia Trogh, a channel over 1000min depth. The alignment of island runs approximately east-west along a 300km belt. The largest island is Mallorca covering 73% of the area.
