east midlands

East Midlands is a long established Regional Group with a good reputation for well attended meetings in a friendly atmosphere, where younger people with an interest in geology are especially welcome. Our monthly evening lectures are open to all and we even offer free tea, coffee and sandwiches.

Our speakers are usually at the top of their profession and are drawn from a broad spectrum of Geoscience related disciplines. If you wish to hear an expert speak on an interesting subject and chat to people with similar interests, why not come along and meet us?

If you would like to propose a topic for a future evening lecture, please contact Mike Howe or Chris Burgess. If you wish to be notified of future EMRG events, please email membership@geolsoc.org.uk

For those seeking to further a career in all aspects of geoscience our meetings will enhance any Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record and our committee are very happy to offer advice and a helping hand.

The EMRG committee comprises representatives from BGS, industry and academia. The committee meet regularly throughout the year and hold an AGM every January, which is open to all members of the Geological Society to attend.
