Shaun Richardson, the Geological Society's Chartership Officer, will provide prospective Chartership candidates with an insight into the application process and highlight common pitfalls based on the direct observations of the Chartership Officer. This should enable attendees to better understand the process and what is expected from their application documentation.

Key elements covered will include the application process, CPD, supporting documents, interview and presentation, followed by the Chartership application timeline. Plenty of time will be allowed for questions.

The meeting will begin at 7.00pm.

Cost and registration

This event is free, with no pre-booking required.

Shaun has occupied the Society's Chartership Officer role for the last 18 months, having spent the previous 35 years working as a geologist in the oil and gas industry for various organisations around the world.

He holds a BSc in Earth Sciences from the University of Leeds, an MSc in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College London, and an MBA from the University of Liverpool. Shaun has been a Chartered Geologist (CGeol) since 1992, a Chartered Scientist (CSci) since 2004 and is also a Certified Petroleum Geologist in the USA.
