Please note that this is the rescheduled date of the conference which was due to take place in May 2020.

This meeting will consist of two days of oral platform presentations, discussions and posters plus an optional conference meal in the evening on the first day, and an optional field trip on the third day.

This conference will give a wide range of researchers, students and amateurs the opportunity to present on marine reptiles and their environments, and hear about the latest theories and discoveries. Themes will include: 

  • Taxonomy
  • Palaeoart
  • Food webs and predation
  • Origins of Mesozoic marine reptiles
  • Ecosystems
  • Modern analogues

Registration

The conference had reached maximum capacity, meaning the booking system was closed. However, it is likely that some delegates registered for the May dates will not be able to attend in September, which will open up some places.

Abstracts

Abstracts for platform presentations and posters should be no more than 250 words, and not include references. Find out more on MRC 2020's abstracts page.

Venue

The conference will be held at The Etches Collection in Dorset, UK. This incredible museum holds a world-class collection of Jurassic marine material, with numerous holotypes and newly discovered marine reptile species, well worth a visit for any marine reptile enthusiast.

It also has a comprehensive range of fossil material that represents the wider marine ecosystem of the Jurassic, including many fascinating specimens showing evidence for predation.
