The Western Regional Group is pleased to welcome Dr Adam Fisher who will discuss his geotechnical knowledge and experience of the working in the Bath and Bristol area. The talk will briefly overview the importance of William Smith’s mapping in the Bath and Bristol area and its huge contribution to Engineering Geology. William Smith's unique geological maps, published over 200 years ago, helped to shape the economic and scientific development of Britain. The modern-day maps of Bath and Bristol will then be used to highlight some local engineering geological considerations.
