TVRG Understanding the Ground at AWE – construction and contamination

Over the last 20 years or so, AWE has invested significant time and expense on the investigation of ground conditions for both geotechnical and geoenvironmental (land quality) purposes. Work has been carried out at Aldermaston, Burghfield, Blacknest and before site disposal in the late 1990s at Cardiff too. This presentation will provide an insight into the ground investigation work and contamination management activities that have been carried out.
