Our speaker this evening is Steve Jackson from Soilfix Ltd. In his presentation Steve will explore the challenges of carrying out in-situ remediation of contaminated soil, bedrock and groundwater and discusses a variety of techniques that have been adopted in the UK. This will include case studies for four sites which have utilised a range of treatment and recovery methods.
These studies all have a common thread - that successfully treating ‘what the eye cannot see’ is highly dependent upon good site characterisation, a flexible approach to the unforeseen and, most importantly, the methods of delivery!
Speaker
Steve has over 23 years professional experience in contaminated land assessment and remediation; working in consultancy, contracting and as a client. He is now a Director of Soilfix Ltd, a multi-disciplinary remediation contractor, working principally in the development & industrial sectors.
He has significant experience of implementing a wide variety of innovative in-situ / ex-situ technologies for treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater across a range of historical land uses. He has provided expert witness evidence, contributed to best practice guidance and presented on numerous industry seminars over his career.
