Raw Materials Empowering Sustainability: How can we monitor ESG?

Describe techniques for monitoring and traceability. Understand roles for emerging technologies, use of data, and dependencies on e.g. human and economic factors. Understand ESG baselines and approaches to implementation.

Learning Objectives

    • Discover a range of techniques available to monitor ESG indicators on the ground, and traceability of sustainability attributes through supply chains
    • Understand the roles that emerging technologies can play, including big data, AI, machine learning and blockchain
    • Compare and critically evaluate ESG baselines, including an appreciation of timescales and geographic extent
    • Evaluate how data can be used to effect positive change
    • Analyse dependencies of technologies on other factors (human, economic, etc)
    • Critically evaluate approaches to integrating ESG monitoring into businesses, including consideration of risk assessments, assurance mechanisms, and policy/regulation
