An annual two week long festival, the Midlothian Science Festival aims to reach and inspire audiences of all ages across Midlothian.

Dino and Rocks day!

Date: Friday 17 October

Time: 11am - 3pm

Cost: Free

‘Dino and Rocks day’ aims to excite, inspire and teach children, teenagers and their parents about dinosaurs and geology! 

Activities include: A plate tectonics and rock cycle demonstration, building an earth model and a rock identification class. There will be information boards about local geology and where you can find the best outcrops and dinosaur footprints in Scotland and across the UK.

Additionally there will be information and stalls on the importance of geologists in everyday life, from oil and gas exploration, through to mining for precious elements, Antarctic exploration and volcano monitoring.
