Reproduced by the Geological Society of London from an original of William Smith's famous 1815 geological map rediscovered in its archives.
The size of the printing presses in the early 19th century meant that the map was originally published in fifteen sections. The sections held in the GSL Library have been scanned to create these facsimile prints.
