The presentation provides an overview of the Sirius Minerals Plc polyhalite mining project, near Whitby, where the mine site development is being undertaken within an area of the North York Moors National Park, underlain by a multi layered fractured aquifer. Hydrogeological solutions have been successfully developed, in collaboration with the mine design team and by consultation with the local community and regulators, to protect the environment and manage the construction demands associated with subsurface development in this moorland area.
