In conjunction with the Highland Archaeology Festival the North West Highlands Geopark will host a series of Earth Science Café events which will provide participants the opportunity to judge the earth science poster competition which they’re running with the local primary schools.
There will be talks and walks every day between the 10 - 18 October 2015 on the theme of Earth Science, archaeology and Geo-archaeology

Join a NWH Geopark Geo-ranger to explore Knockan Crag, a site just off the main road bursting with interesting geology and amazing wildlife. A well-constructed path takes a short and steep climb to amazing views across to Stac Pollaidh and beyond.
Meet at Knockan Crag NNR car park, 2.5 miles south of Elphin at 11am.

Georamble to an ancient wheel house, Loch Eriboll

Georamble to an ancient wheel house at Laide on the side of Loch Eriboll. A short walk around Loch Eriboll to visit a prehistoric landscape and some of the rocky outcrops which inspired mountain building theory. Find out about the Iron Age landscape and how the geology influences architecture and way of life.
