The next field event for BCGS will take place on Sunday 6th March 2022 (Geoconservation Day) at Saltwells Local Nature Reserve.

Please not that the meeting time has been brought forward to 10:00 as the nature reserve car park tends to get quite full by 10:30.

Meet at the Nature Reserve car park (Grid ref: SJ 934 868) on Saltwells Lane for a 10:00 start and 14:30 finish.

Event details

Wear old work clothes, waterproofs and stout footwear or wellies. Please bring gloves and garden tools (hand brushes, trowels); loppers, secateurs, forks and spades if you have them. Either bring packed lunch or hot food can be acquired from the Saltwells Inn adjacent to the car park.

Should you arrive later and find the car park full, there is alternative parking on the road near the work site for the day (Brewin’s Canal Section SSSI). Highbridge Road, Blackbrook Close and Knowle Hill Road should have some spaces, see the map below.
