Interested in becoming a Geology Ambassador?


To become a Geology Ambassador you will need to be based in the UK and have expertise through being a student or researcher, volunteer field guide, lecturer, professional geoscientist, or general enthusiast.

How to become an Ambassador:

1. Register as a STEM Ambassador on the STEM Learning website

To register please complete the application form on the STEM Learning website. Please select the Geological Society of London as one of your institutions, and tick the box authorising STEM Learning to share your contact details with us.

2. Fill in our brief form to receive updates about new resources:

3. Take advantage of free support from STEM Learning

Once registered you will be able to book onto a training induction given by your regional STEM Hub, apply for an Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service check, necessary to visit schools) and sign up for outreach events in your region.

4. Volunteer and make use of our resources! 

Once you receive DBS clearance, you will be registered as a STEM Ambassador and you will be able to access a list of requests from teachers and schools in your region. You can choose to volunteer for any of the activities in the regular emails and updates, or approach schools with your own ideas.
