The annual National Schools Geology Challenge will be held at Burlington House on Thursday 22 March 2018. 

About the National Schools Geology Challenge

The National Schools Geology Challenge is now in its 7th year. 

Teams of science, geography and geology students produce a themed poster, develop a 5 minute presentation on their chosen (geology related) topic to a panel of leading geologists from academia and industry and complete in a geology quiz. Aimed at years 12/13 (England and Wales), 13/14 (Northern Ireland) or S5/S6 (Scotland), the Challenge is a an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their UCAS applications. Students also benefit from watching professional geoscientists taking part in our Early Career Geologist Award talk about their work.

Regional Heats are organised all over the UK through our network of Regional Groups, and the winners go forward to the Finals. If you are interested in competing in the Challenge please email your appropriate Regional Group member or contact Will Foreman ([email protected]) with any queries.
