Belonging to the Geological Society of London
The Geological Society offers geoscientists continuity and support through every phase of scientific and professional life. There is an appropriate grade of membership for each career stage, from student to retirement. Fees are graduated according to age, so that membership is made accessible to younger and older geoscientists.
Membership brings many benefits, including professional recognition. Fellows are entitled to the letters FGS after their name and Chartered Geologists can add the postnominal CGeol.
All Fellows receive our monthly magazine Geoscientist, one free Society journal, discounted publications and meeting fees and access to our world-class geological library.
