For 1000 Martian days the Curiosity Rover has explored Gale Crater on Mars.  We have identified a river bed, an ancient delta and lake deposits, and are our in the foothills of Mt. Sharp.  Along the way we have made atmospheric measurements including the first bona fide identification of methane and used X-ray diffraction for the first time on another planet to identify hydrated minerals.

Curiosity is revolutionising our view of the evolution of the Red Planet and in this talk John Bridges will give an update of our findings and plans.
