Speaker: James Dodds

(Managing Director & Water Management Specialist, Envireau Water)

James Dodds has been a consulting hydrogeologist for nearly 30 years and has worked across the globe in many different geological environments. He now owns and manages a consulting practice based in the midlands, and specialises in regulator negotiation. During his career he has seen a wide range of technical and regulatory approaches to hydrogeological risks and problems, from groundwater resources management, mine and quarry water management to landfill and contaminated land.

Over the 30 year period there would appear to be a cyclical nature to the regulatory approach and the issues that need to be investigated and solved. James will discuss the nature of these cycles and what can be learned from them and on that basis what the new environmental geologists and hydrogeologists might encounter over the next 30 years.

In what is likely to be a lively and probably controversial talk, it will be of interest to new entry and experienced geologists alike.

Time

Refreshments from 6.30pm in Room N108, talk starts at 7pm.
