Geosynthetic Solutions have become an accepted technology in a number of application areas for several decades. The geosynthetic industry is still growing with new companies, geographical and market sector areas.

The presentation will look at some of the latest solutions present and/or coming to the civil engineering market, including high accuracy monitoring systems, ductile construction in high seismicity areas, ground improvement in super soft soils, an increasing knowledge on the sustainable use of geosynthetics and improvements in the specification and design of geosynthetic solutions.

Speaker Biography

Peter is the area manager for Africa for HUESKER Synthetic GmbH and responsible for the development of Geosynthetic applications in Africa. He has worked in the civil engineering industry for over 20 years, first in ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy, before working for the last 10 years in the geosynthetics industry. He is a Chartered Geologist, Chartered Scientist and past chairman of the Midland Geotechnical Society and outgoing chairman of the U.K. Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society.
