Events & Courses

In partnership with University Geoscience UK, we are hosting this event on 15 May (10:30 – 15:00), with the aim of bringing together key stakeholders across the geoscience sector to showcase the critical role geoscience plays to the UK. 

The event will be used to establish and build a strategic alliance of stakeholders to work cooperatively and collaboratively to change negative perceptions, create influence and establish a widespread understanding of geoscience as fundamental to the UK society and economy. 

Event Agenda

Morning session (10:30 – 12:45)

The morning session will comprise an overview of the current status of geoscience and the proposal for a strategic alliance followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A forum. The morning session will be made available to join online.

Lunch (12:45 – 13:30)

An opportunity for networking and further discussion.

Afternoon session – In-person only (1:30 – 15:00)

The afternoon session will consist of small group workshops to shape the Strategic Alliance and inform future work and key outputs. The day will conclude with a summary and the development goals and next steps.
