Dedicate a seat in the restored Lecture Theatre

A Personal Legacy in a Historic Scientific Space

As part of the refurbishment, supporters are invited to become part of the Lecture Theatre's story through our seat dedication programme.

Future generations of Fellows, students, researchers and visitors will gather in these seats to learn, debate and discover.

Ways to you might wish to dedicate a seat:

  • In your own name
  • In honour of a mentor or colleague
  • In memory of a loved one
  • To celebrate a career or achievement
  • On behalf of an organisation or team

A flexible and heritage-led approach

As conservation and design work progresses, final seat layouts will continue to evolve. Donors will receive seat allocation priority according to gift level and pledge date, with final placements confirmed following completion of the detailed design process.

This approach allows supporters to participate in the restoration from the outset whilst helping ensure the project can move forward with confidence.

A lasting record:

Supporters who wish to be recognised will be recorded in a commemorative Book of Benefactors, created to mark the refurbishment of the Lecture Theatre and preserved within the Society's collections as a permanent record of those whose generosity helped secure its future. A digital Book of Benefactors will also be available online.
