Spend an afternoon in the World Heritage Site of Blaenavon exploring specialist analytical techniques used in land quality assessment and environmental geochemistry. The event will include a tour of the Geochemic laboratory facility alongside a series of short technical presentations from industry professionals covering soil washing experimentation, soil stabilisation, bespoke leaching testwork, and detailed mineralogical assessments used to inform remediation and land quality management decisions.
The event is organised by the Geological Society Contaminated Land Group, Southern Wales Regional Group, and Geochemic Ltd, with lunch sponsored by Darlow Lloyd & Sons Ltd.
This free event includes lunch. Please let the team know if you have any accessibility needs or food allergies at
least 2 weeks before the event.
After the event you are welcome to stay for the official opening of the Geochemic laboratory. Food and drinks will be provided and there will be networking opportunities. The official opening will run from 5pm to 7.30pm.
