The North West Regional Group is very excited to be hosting this talk by Sergei Terzaghi, alongside ICE North West on Wednesday 27th May at the University of Manchester on the overview of over forty years’ worth of experience from one of the most recognisable names in ground engineering.

In this lecture, Sergei shares some of his experiences covering over 40 years within geotechnical engineering. His work has included desktop studies, investigation, analysis, design and construction input for highways, tunnels, railways, pipelines (onshore and offshore), embankments, dams, power stations, marine / offshore projects and foundations and excavations for a vast range of structures including tanks through to large multi-storey buildings.

Sergei is highly skilled in numerical modelling and has a  proven track record in providing realistic answers to complex problems. Sergei maintains his skills at the cutting edge of this field and he will provide some insight how the geotechnical industry can leverage AI to improve its effectiveness.

This lecture is suitable for engineers and geologists at all stages of their career, and students and early-career professionals are particularly welcome.

This event begins at 18:30, however the venue opens from 18:00.

Spaces are strictly limited for this free event. We strongly encourage early registration to avoid disappointment.
