A gift in memory is a meaningful way to celebrate a life and the interests, achievements and passions that made someone special.

You may wish to remember a family member, friend, colleague or someone whose enthusiasm for geology and the natural world inspired others. Donations can be made individually or collected in their memory at a funeral, memorial gathering or anniversary.

We would be pleased to help you find a fitting way to remember them through the Society's work.

Celebrate a special occasion

Some occasions deserve to be marked in a way that lasts.

Whether celebrating a birthday, retirement, anniversary, professional achievement or simply saying thank you to someone who has made a difference, a donation to the Geological Society offers a thoughtful alternative to a traditional gift.

It is also a lovely way to recognise a mentor, teacher or colleague whose encouragement helped shape a career or lifelong interest in geoscience.

A Space for Discovery – a dedication that lasts

Our A Space for Discovery campaign offers a special opportunity to celebrate someone through the renewal of the Society's historic Lecture Theatre at Burlington House.

By dedicating a seat, you can honour someone special, recognise an achievement or create a tribute in memory of a loved one, while helping us preserve this remarkable space and prepare it for future generations.

Each seat dedication will be recognised with a personalised plaque for a ten-year period, creating a meaningful connection to a place that has brought people together to share ideas and discoveries for generations.
