Visit to Lin Ma Hang Lead Mine Revitalisation - HKRG

This field trip is offered by the Hong Kong Regional group and is free of charge. Participation is n a first come first serve basis with priority given to members. 

Join the group for an excursion to the Lin Ma Hang Lead Mine Cavern site, whose revitalisation was completed in December 2024. The excursion will be presented by project geologists from Meinhardt Infrastructure & Environmental Ltd, will be share their experience and observations acquired during the various phases of investigation, design and construction, Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the revitalisation project. 

A green minibus has been reserved for this trip, however individuals will need to pay for their own fare. 

Note:

• This event is subject to weather conditions and may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather.
• Participants MUST bring at least 1L of drinking fluid and lunch.
• Participants MUST bring a HKID card or passport.
• Neither the Society of parties concerned accept any liabilities in connection with this event.
• Please wear proper hiking boots and field clothing.

The excursion involves a 4km hike through steep terrain with an initial 1000 step climb (2 hours hiking in total). It also includes a comprehensive tour of the abandoned mine and some of the main facilities.  Participants must be physically capable.
