Steve will also discuss the technological changes in the way borehole information is now recorded and will present on a few of his achievements in trying to encourage and share borehole data with the construction and civil engineering industry, in order to help reduce costs, time savings and reduce health and safety risk in the process of collecting ground information.

This is an online only event via Zoom. All are welcome. Please click on the Book Now button above to access the Zoom link.

The online room opens at 18:15 for an 18:30 start.

Steve Thorpe - British Geological Survey (BGS)

Steve has worked for BGS for over 20 years including being manager and lead driller on BGS’ own drilling rig facility, and has a deep understanding of the key datasets that help inform maps, models and industry requirements. Steve is a keen advocate for BGS and regularly attends conferences and trade shows to spread the good word of geology. Steve’s passion lies with boreholes and he strives to encourage more people to send their data to BGS for safekeeping.
