CSI Geoscience Webinars
We are running three free webinars related to forensic geoscience each with a different subject focus (Science, History and Geography) for Key Stage 3 students. These interactive webinars are ideal for classroom viewing or enrichment activities and demonstrate how geoscience connects across subjects in exciting and meaningful ways.
How Forensic Geoscience can Investigate History and Provide New Evidence (History Focused)
Sometimes history is seen as dull and boring for young learners. However, modern scientific investigations from important historical events/sites can provide us with potentially exciting new knowledge or indeed change our understanding of events using evidence-based knowledge. This webinar will provide a brief overview of current forensic geoscience research over different past conflicts and events, mostly in the UK, to show how history is all around us with new discoveries being found all the time. This webinar is aimed at Key Stage 3 students.
Points from the history Curriculum:
- Key Stage 3: The Black Death and its social and economic impact
- Key Stage 3: challenges for Britain, Europe and the wider world 1901 to the present day – World War 1 and 2
