CSI Geoscience Webinars

We are running three free webinars related to forensic geoscience each with a different subject focus (Science, History and Geography) for Key Stage 3 students. These interactive webinars are ideal for classroom viewing or enrichment activities and demonstrate how geoscience connects across subjects in exciting and meaningful ways.

Forensic Geomorphology (Geography Focused)

This webinar will focus on the historical background of forensic geoscience, and then will discuss the jump to modern landform survey techniques such as satellite imagery, GPS surveys; drone surveying (orthophotography, vegetation analysis, LiDAR) landscape characterization for Forensic Search methods. This webinar is aimed at Key Stage 3 students.

Points from Geography Curriculum:

  • Human and Physical Geography: understand how human and physical processes interact to influence, and change landscapes, environments
  • Geographical Skills and Fieldwork: use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to view, analyse and interpret places and data
