This Guide is multi-authored and consists of two volumes: Volume 1, Cumberland and Volume 2, Westmorland and Furness. Each volume contains itineraries that explore a range of the stratigraphy and aspects of mineralisation, from the complex structure and sedimentology of the Ordovician, Skiddaw Group of the Northern Fells through to the Holocene sediments of the Ravenglass Estuary. There is a total of 23 itineraries, with a comprehensive bibliography, glossary and index in each volume, plus detailed introductions to the Palaeozoic rocks and Quaternary processes.
