Captain Charles Kenelm Digby Jones

Biography:

Charles Kenelm Digby Jones, the eldest son of Charles Digby Jones of Edinburgh, was a mining engineer by profession, who had trained at the Royal College of Science and had been attached to the N W Survey, Canada, before he joined the Society in April 1901. In the decade prior to the outbreak of the First World War, Jones was employed by the Jumbo Gold-Mining Company Ltd, Rhodesia. 

A captain in the Royal Engineers, he died of heart failure and meningitis following influenza, contracted on active service in Siberia, on 25 September 1918.
