The ECG Award final in 2023 was held as an online event on 31st May, hosted by Daniel Hope, with the judging panel including Ruth Allington, Claire Howarth and Chris Swainston. Representing the Western Regional Group, the winner was:

The ECG Award final in 2022 was held as a hybrid event (online and in-person) on 9th June, hosted by Huw Richards, with the judging panel including Dr. Jennie Gilbert, Dr. David Giles and Dr. Karen Hudson-Edwards. Representing the South Wales Regional Group, the winner was:

The ECG Award final in 2021 was held virtually (due to COVID-19) on 27th May, hosted by Deborah Thomas (ECN), with the judging panel including Dr. Simon Dominy, Dr. Peter Fawdon and Ursula Lawrence. Representing the Thames Valley Regional Group, the winner was:

The ECG Award final in 2012 was held at Burlington House alongside the National Schools Geology Challenge, hosted by Paul Maliphant. The winner of the competition was:

The ECG Award is an annually run competition involving regional heats, the winners of which take part in the national finals.
