The Geological Society of London is the UK's national society for geoscience, providing support to over 12,000 members in the UK and overseas. Founded in 1807, we are the oldest geological society in the world.

Following the highly successful Operations Geology Workshop held in Aberdeen in October 2012, the Petroleum Group of the Geological Society are pleased to announce the dates for the next event, which will be held over two days in 2014. This is also the first call for abstracts.
Operations Geologists play key integrating roles at all stages of the life cycle of a well. This conference will look at the life cycle of a well and the contributions of Operations Geology at each stage. It is the intention of the convenors that both oral and poster presentations will eventually be prepared for release in a Special Publication of the Geological Society of London.
A conference dinner will be held on Wednesday 26th November at the Cavendish Hotel, Jermyn Street. Places at the dinner will be allocated on a first come first served basis and are limited to strictly 70 places. Registration for the conference dinner is now closed. Due to expected demand we will unfortunately not be able to offer places for partner or other non delegate attendees.
