As part of Earth Science Week we will be running a workshop for 6th form students on 19 October 2018 from 11:00 - 14:00. Led by Dr Matt Loader from the Natural History Museum, the workshop will be based around the earth Science Week theme - 'Earth Science in our Lives'. Students will take part in an urban geology field trip around Piccadilly and a mineral exploration session where they will learn how geologists search for, and extract important minerals. After this they will compete against each other in teams to win a $100 million bid to construct a (fictional) copper mine!

  • The workshop is for 6th form geology students and geography students with an interest in geology (plus accompanying teachers).
  • Attendance is free for school groups but places are limited. There is a limit of 10 students per school.
  • Places will be offered on a first come first served basis so make sure you reserve your/your students places ASAP

Please email Amy Ball to reserve your place or for any further information.
