Event details

Our understanding of the ground gas hazard, it’s behaviour and how to manage the risks has evolved considerably since the first guidance documents came out after the Loscoe explosion of 1986. This presentation will discuss the latest thinking and best practice on monitoring and interpreting ground gas data. With reference to first principles, geological factors and worst-case conditions, a holistic approach to creating meaningful conceptual site models will be discussed. The presentation will finish with a case study that presents the ‘lines of evidence’ approach to a S-P-R contaminant linkage risk assessment.
