In this talk on the role of geology in serious crime investigations, Dr Duncan Pirree will explain, largely through a series of case studies, how detailed analysis of geological materials can assist in the investigation of serious crime.  Over the last 15 years he has provided geological advice in over 100 major investigations, mostly murder enquiries, in the UK and overseas.  

Duncan is a registered expert witness with the UK Police National Crime Agency, member of the International Union of Geological Sciences Initiative on Forensic Geology, Secretary of the Geological Society, Forensic Geoscience Group and currently a member of a Home Office working group.
