The UK Groundwater Modellers’ Forum is holding its 12th workshop on new issues and applications in groundwater modelling in the UK.
The Groundwater Modellers’ Forum arose from the Environment Agency’s successful national groundwater modelling programme and has focussed mainly on issues related to groundwater resources modelling. Recently several new important issues have arisen to which groundwater modelling is being applied.
The talks in the morning will look at the following: 3D unstructured grids to allow grid refinement both horizontally and vertically the role of groundwater modelling in climate change predictions and the new SPZ methodology and the coupling of groundwater and ecological modelling.
Instead of the usual afternoon break-out sessions, we are having firstly a Modellers’ Fair to showcase new approaches in groundwater modelling and the application of existing approaches to new issues; and secondly there will be a debate focussing on the use of a groundwater model where there is a conflict.
