An indoor course with an optional very short trip out (in the free period) if the weather is OK. Scotland has had an extremely eventful geological history for a country of its size and this is reflected in its vast array of geological features.
Come on this course and discover some of the oldest rocks on our planet. Ideal for those who’ve caught the geology bug!
The course provides a thorough introduction to the geology of Scotland via:
- A series of PowerPoint presentations,
- A series of practical sessions interspersed where appropriate in the presentations, to look at a large selection of rocks, minerals, fossils, thin sections and geological maps from the Scotland.
- A large selection of rocks, minerals and fossils from around the world are also available for students to handle.
