Following on from our event last year, The Geological Society will be holding its second Athena SWAN Best Practice Workshop, at Burlington House, on Wednesday 17th October 2018 (13:00 – 16:00).

This year the workshop will aim to cover the following topics to help progress your Self-Assessment Team’s submission:

Data – Collecting, Analysing and Presenting

Data collection plays a significant role in a successful Athena SWAN submission. This section will aim to highlight methods of data collection, enabling a thorough analysis that will identify issues and solutions.

SMART Action Plan design

This section will look at ways to create ‘SMART’ goals, and how to develop an action plan based on your specific areas of concern.

Q&A Session

A question-and-answer session will follow providing a valuable opportunity for attendees to address specific interests. If you would like to submit a question for this section, please include it in your expression of interest.

The workshop will be attended by an Equality Charters Adviser and experienced panellists with Earth Science backgrounds.

This workshop is free to attend and is open to Earth Science department representatives working within Self-Assessment Team’s towards obtaining or renewing their Bronze, Silver and Gold level awards.

If you would like further information or to register your interest for the workshop, please email the Society's diversity mailbox
