Formed in 2004, LMCL has since 2010 been obtaining photogrammetric and LiDAR point-cloud surveys and interpreting those surveys to undertake detailed geological mapping and geotechnical analyses of hazardous or impossible to reach terrains.

The talk will describe the acquisition of terrestrial LiDAR and UAS (“drone”) photogrammetric point-clouds including a brief section on the legal aspects of utilising Drones. The majority of the talk will present a number of case studies of the use of these highly detailed 3D surveys.
