A call to all Early Career Engineering Geologists of the Engineering Group of the Geological Society
What is it?
This event is an opportunity for early career engineering geologists, both in industry and academia, to present on their experiences since graduating. As such we’re looking for enthusiastic graduates and researchers to apply in order to take part.
The presentations may cover peoples’ contributions to recent projects, developments in industry and research, as well as highlighting any key experiences, learning points or issues encountered since starting their careers. The floor is open, so please take advantage!
The evening will be formed of a series of 6, 10-minute presentations given by successful applicants on topics of their choice.The talks will be followed by a brief Q&A session with post-meeting drinks in the Lower Library.
This is an excellent opportunity for any early careers engineering geologist to:
- represent their company/institution;
- network with their peers from across industry and academia; and
- present at Burlington House.
The real aim of this meeting is to provide the chance for graduates to share their varied experiences and opinions on how they see our discipline developing. We want to open the floor to critical, new ways of thinking through allowing the next generation a chance to openly present their views.
Who can apply?
You must be a Fellow of the Geological Society with no more than 5 years’ post-graduate experience.
What do you do?
To enter, please submit a CV and short abstract (1-2 paragraphs long) to the event convenor (Tom Hall email: [email protected]) outlining your presentation topic.
