Geological Society appoints new Executive Secretary
I am delighted to announce that Richard Hughes has been appointed to the position of Executive Secretary of the Geological Society. He will take up the position in early May.
Richard has been Director of Business Development at the Coal Authority since 2013. Prior to that, he was Director of Information at the British Geological Survey.
Richard was a member of the Geological Society’s Council from 2009-2013, when he also chaired our Information Management Committee. He has been a Fellow of the Society and a Chartered Geologist since 2001. Richard’s LinkedIn page provides further background information.
