The South East Regional Group plans to hold its early careers geoscientist papers competition via Zoom this September, and invites geoscientists within its region to enter.

Entry to the competition will enable you to show your ability and skills to other members of the Geological Society in the south east. It will also raise your profile within the geoscience community and counts towards your CPD for Chartership.

Call for entries

The competition is open to geoscientists under the age of 35 for a geology- or engineering geology-related presentation of up to 15 minutes in length. The panel of judges will assess both the quality of the presentation and the individual’s knowledge of the subject matter.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £100 and the Group's Rory Mortimore Trophy, and the runner-up will receive a prize of a book token.

The winner will also have the opportunity to go forward to compete in the Geological Society's national Early Careers Award competition at Burlington House in London.

To enter, please submit a brief summary of your presentation to [email protected] by midnight on Monday 31 August 2020.
