Please note that this event has been postponed and will no longer be taking place on 11 March 2020. The Thames Valley Regional Group hopes to hold the event at a later date in their 2020 programme.

Shaun Richardson, the Geological Society's Chartership Officer, will explain why Chartership is important to Geoscientists and how it can be achieved.

Two routes are available to Fellows of the Geological Society – the normal route and the 20+ year route (for experienced professionals), and they apply to both Chartered Geologist (CGeol) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) status. Although most of the talk will focus on the normal route, both will be covered, taking applicants through the planning and submission of their application through to the interview process and outcome.

A timeline will be presented which shows the length of time that candidates typically spend working on their applications, and an important aspect of the presentation will be discussing pitfalls (and how to avoid them) when making an application for Chartership.

Ample time will be allowed for further questions to the Chartership Officer.
