This service is available to Fellows of the Geological Society resident in the UK and Republic of Ireland, as well as to employees of Corporate Affiliates, who may borrow material via their company libraries / information centres. Most books, serials (bound and individual parts) and maps are available for loan.
Postal Loans
Items can be sent by post anywhere in the UK and Republic of Ireland. We use Royal Mail's 'Special Delivery' service and will invoice for postage costs.
When returning items by post please send by Royal Mail’s ‘Special Delivery’ service so the Society’s property is insured and tracked in case of loss or damage.

Loan entitlements
Fellows: up to 6 books/serials and 6 maps
Candidate Fellows: up to 3 books/serials and 3 maps
Corporate Affiliates: up to 12 books/serials and 12 maps
The loan period is 4 weeks. Material can be renewed for a further 4 weeks if not required by another reader (maxiumum loan period 8 weeks).
Fellows may send someone to collect books on their behalf by prior arrangement.
Library material may not be taken abroad or lent to others.
