Benefits of Membership


As a Fellow you will join an international community of geoscientists. There are about 9500 Fellows worldwide in over 80 countries, with 20% based outside the UK. Fellows cover the spectrum of geoscience professions, from industry and consultancy to education and the public sector. Fellows are entitled to the postnominal ‘FGS’ to mark their commitment to the highest standards of professional behaviour.

Lyell Collection – new for May 2007 – an online resource giving Fellows access to online versions of the Society’s core journals, Special Publications and key book series
