Arthurs Holmes Meetings 2007
There were two Arthur Holmes meetings held in 2007:
A field excursion to Assynt, which was an introduction to the geology of this critical region for Highland Geology, in the footsteps of Peach and Horne, with a range of sites including Inchnadamph, Glencoul, Knockan Crag and Lochinver. Although designed to introduce those participants unfamiliar with NW Highland geology to the rocks and structure, this full day excursion also acted to provide a common experience platform for subsequent discussions during the week
An indoor conference session covering oral and poster sessions. Field excursions, with various choices. And a conference dinner on the final evening.
Key themes to be addressed, both in the field and in the conference centre, included:
- Continental Tectonics and Mountain Building, Date: 12 – 19 May.
