Library and Information Services
The Geological Society Library was founded in 1809 and provides support services to Fellows of the Society and employees of Corporate Affiliates. Access for non-members (including members of societies with which the Geological Society has reciprocal agreements) is by appointment only.
The Library contains over 300,000 volumes of books and serials, takes around 700 current serial titles and has a collection of over 35,000 maps. All aspects of the geological sciences are covered.

New in 2008 – online access to 40 e-journals
New Document Supply/Photocopying Charges
The Library is having to increase its photocopying charges for the first time in many years. The new charges will be introduced on 4 August 2008. The Inter Library Loan charges will also be increased to reflect the British Library's prices.
