Apply for CSci
Science Council
The Science Council is a membership organisation representing the learned societies and professional institutions across the breadth of science in the UK. It aims to provide a collective voice for science and scientists and to maintain standards across all the scientific disciplines. In October 2003 the Science Council was granted a Royal Charter, which enables it to licence appropriate professional institutions to award the designation Chartered Scientist (CSci) to individual scientists who meet the high standards for the qualification.Chartered Scientist
The Geological Society of London is licensed by the Science Council to award the Chartered Scientist (CSci) designation. Being a Chartered Scientist allows all scientists working at the full professional level to be recognised on an equal footing. By benchmarking professional scientists at the same high level, CSci aims to re-engage public trust and confidence in science and scientists. Becoming a Chartered Scientist represents a commitment to the whole of science, and provides opportunities to build cross-disciplinary networks with other highly competent scientists.Chartered Scientist is open to all Fellows who work in the practice, application, advancement or teaching of science and who have the appropriate combination of qualifications and experience.
