Especially the southern part of the country has attracted much of the petroleum industry's attention over the past 10 years. This film aims to give a comprehensive introduction into the petroleum geology of the Murzuq and Kufra basins. Desert outcrop scenes integrated with subsurface data form the core of the film and are supplemented by 3D¬satellite flights, conceptual 2D- and 3D-animations and modern facies analogues. Senior geological experts are interviewed introducing the key elements of the regional geological history.
