Petroleum Geoscience (PG) is a refereed journal providing a multidisciplinary outlet for the publication needs of those involved in the science and technology associated with rock-related petroleum disciplines. The journal has a circulation of approximately 5000 and includes in its readership geologists, geophysicists, petroleum engineers, petrophysicists and geochemists in the academic and professional worlds. The journal aims to improve knowledge of petroleum geoscience and reflect the international nature of the petroleum industry.

Scope


Petroleum Geoscience transcends disciplinary boundaries and publishes a balanced mix of articles covering exploration, exploitation, appraisal and development of hydrocarbon resources. Articles range from exploration geology, geophysics, geochemistry and petrophysics to reservoir geology and reservoir engineering. Petroleum Geoscience highlights the optimization of resources and maximization of quality and profit through the application of technology. Articles on improving exploration hit rates, lowering technological risk and improving hydrocarbon recovery enable this journal to bring the benefits of the latest developments to its wide readership.

Norman Falcon Award


The EAGE’s Norman Falcon Award is presented to the author(s) of the best paper published in Petroleum Geoscience (or in First Break in a related topic) in the calendar year preceding the award. The paper should be of high scientific standard and should represent a significant contribution to one or more sub-surface disciplines.
